A United Effort for a Nourished Future

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Food Security Collaborative of Contra Costa County, a powerful new partnership with a shared vision of creating a community where every resident has equitable access to nutritious food, ensuring that no one experiences food insecurity. This collaboration seeks to uplift communities and provide every individual with the dignity and sustenance they deserve.

The collaborative unites five key organizations that have worked together and long been at the forefront of the fight against hunger in Contra Costa County:

  • The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano (Food Bank)
  • Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa (LFCC)
  • Meals on Wheels Diablo Region (MOWDR)
  • St. Vincent de Paul of Contra Costa County (SVdP)
  • White Pony Express (WPE)

Together, these organizations will work to identify underserved communities within the county that lack sufficient access to food and develop targeted strategies to address gaps in distribution. This initiative is driven by the strength of collaboration, combining the unique expertise, resources, and networks of each partner to make a greater impact on food security in the region.

By leveraging this collective power, the Food Security Collaborative of Contra Costa County aims to not only meet immediate needs but also lay the groundwork for long-term solutions, creating a brighter, more sustainable future where no one in Contra Costa County goes hungry. Through this unified approach, we are fostering hope and change in the battle against hunger, ensuring that everyone has access to the nutrition they need to thrive.

UPDATE: As a proud member of the Food Security Collaborative of Contra Costa County, we are incredibly honored to receive a generous $100,000 grant from Impact100 East Bay! This funding will empower our five partner organizations to create a vital “heat map” that identifies communities with limited food access, uncovers overlaps in services, and helps us develop efficient solutions to bridge gaps in food distribution.
