Loaves and Fishes is a 501C3 non-profit organization founded in 1983. The mission of Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa is to provide community based food programs and partner services that focus on basic needs. We are the largest provider of hot meals to the hungry in Contra Costa County, serving over 281,000 hot meals and distributing 259 tons of groceries last fiscal year from our five dining room locations. Our volunteers are a valuable resource to Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa. Your volunteer service enables us to fulfill our mission of nourishing lives!

- Children under 12 years old are not allowed to volunteer. Any volunteer older than 12 but younger than 18 years old must have a parent or guardian present in order to volunteer.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Dining Room Group Volunteers:
Your group will be assigned to help in one of our 5 Dining Room locations to assist in serving meals including light food preparation, serving meals in to-go containers and assisting in cleanup.
Central Kitchen Group Volunteers:
Your group will help with food preparation including cleaning and chopping fresh produce, preparing raw and cooked meats, slicing and preparing hot buttered breads, assembling green and fruit salads and roasting vegetables,
GROUP AND CORPORATE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Loaves and Fishes provides a tremendous opportunity for groups to be directly involved in our mission. Loaves and Fishes provides groups of 6-8 people, in five different dining rooms and in our Central Kitchen.
We collaborate closely with our partners to create mutually beneficial sponsorship programs, volunteer opportunities, fundraising campaigns, food drives, and other initiatives.
