VOLUNTEER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Our volunteers are the heart and soul of Loaves and Fishes. We want everyone’s experience to be positive, fun and rewarding. Below you will find some of our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s):
Possible duties that may also be assigned to Volunteers: Help unload vehicles when donated groceries arrive, roll silverware, replenish food from the kitchen as it runs out, etc.
Use of cell phones and other electronic devices: Volunteers shall not use electronic devices such as cell phones, iPods, mp3 players, video players, computers, etc. while volunteering at any LFCC facility. Use of headphones is prohibited for safety reasons.
Volunteers are placed by the Volunteer Manager based on need in dining rooms, interest, and availability. Shifts are subject to change as needed. At times we may move/cancel your volunteer shift to accommodate certain Corporate Volunteers, National Charity League or for Week of Caring.
New Dining Room Volunteers will be given an orientation upon arrival and will be supervised by the Dining Room Manager. Please view our website for other important information to familiarize yourself with our organization.
All volunteers must sign our Loaves and Fishes waiver as well as a waiver required by the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano prior to volunteering with us.
